The Barangay Council of New Panay is proud to announce the approval and implementation of the Solar Lights Project, a major infrastructure initiative aimed at improving public safety, reducing energy costs, and promoting environmental sustainability in our community.

This comprehensive project includes the installation of solar-powered street lights across key areas of the barangay, along with other infrastructure improvements such as road repairs and drainage system enhancements.

Project Components

Solar Street Light Installation

Installation of 150 solar-powered LED street lights along main roads, pathways, and public areas. Each light is equipped with:

  • High-efficiency solar panels (100W)
  • Lithium battery backup (3-5 days autonomy)
  • Bright LED lights (3000-5000 lumens)
  • Motion sensors for energy efficiency
  • Weather-resistant housing

Road Repairs and Improvements

Concurrent repair and maintenance of barangay roads to ensure safe passage and proper foundation for light pole installation.

Drainage System Enhancement

Improvement of drainage systems to prevent flooding and ensure proper water management during heavy rains.

Maintenance & Sustainability

The barangay has allocated a yearly maintenance budget of ₱50,000 for the upkeep of the solar lights system. This includes:

  • Regular cleaning of solar panels (quarterly)
  • Battery inspection and replacement as needed
  • LED bulb replacement (every 5-7 years)
  • Pole and fixture maintenance
  • 24/7 monitoring system
